THE 1ST WORLDWIDE PAN-AFRICAN CULINARY CENTER OPENS ITS DOOR TO THE PUBLIC IN ABIDJAN...
Located at the crossroads of Africa, in Abidjan, Panaf is a more than 1200 m2 unique place worldwide, that is entirely dedicated to transmission, education, promotion & innovation regarding cuisines from Africa and its diaspora. Panaf includes : The "Migrations" restaurant that has been created by Chef Loïc Dablé, a bar, a culinary museum, exhibitions (with a monthly programmation), a food training center, a social Food Lab, a concept store, & a coworking space, etc…
A MULTIDISCIPLINARY APPROACH TO PANAFRICAN CUISINES
From food services, to crafts, professional culinary training, history, botanical, agriculture, marketing, research and development, agro-industry public health or dietetic, this brand new Pan-African culinary Center will bring together the Pan-African food key players, such as Mothers, Chefs, artisans, restaurants, hotels, cooperatives, farmers, researchers, companies, NGO, Governments, etc. Thus ensuring the preservation of various Pan-African culinary identities, Panaf, want to become an inescapable place for culinary tourism in Africa... Open to the world, this Pan-African Culinary Center will embrace past, present & future of these Pan-African cuisines, as a means of sustainable development.
A SOCIAL FOOD LAB
Through food, Panaf develops a solidarity based entrepreneurship facing economic & social issues affecting youth in Africa, such as unemployment or irregular migrations. Panaf implemented a real professional, social & economic rehabilitation program for women and Ivorian migrants in priority. Chef Loïc Dablé thus supervises the above mentioned program that has been supported by Panaf Partners. In this respect, former migrants are trained as cooks or waiters and are fully trained into this rehabilitation program that will also provide job placement assistance.
RAMAḌĀN'S CUISINES : THE 1ST PANAF EXHIBITION
From May 6, 2019 to June 7, 2019, Panaf hosts the first culinary exhibition : Ramaḍān. This exhibition pays tribute to the diversity of Pan-African culinary traditions, regarding Ramadan. Through a genuine culinary journey, Ramaḍān exhibition will take Panaf visitors to the heart of a changing key moment in Africa, between tradition & modernity.
Program: exhibitions, special menus, cooking classes for adults & kids, private dinners, talks, brunchs, etc.
